Riley Adams designated for assignment by Nationals

Riley Adams has been designated for assignment by the Washington Nationals to make room for the newly-acquired Gus Varland on the 40-man roster. (Mark Zuckerman on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Adams established a number of career-highs last season including home runs (8) and RBI (24), but he batted just .186 in 286 plate appearances. His average was hurt by a dismal 38.5% strikeout rate. Adams is a lifetime .211 hitter with 21 home runs, primarily with Washington. Teams needing organizational depth at the catcher position now have an opportunity to claim him.
