David Robertson announces retirement after 17 seasons

David Robertson has announced his retirement after 17 seasons in the major leagues. He pitched for the Yankees, White Sox, Phillies, Rays, Cubs, Mets, Marlins, and Rangers. (MLB on X)

Robertson, who will turn 41 in April, ranks 35th all-time in career appearances with 881. He finishes his career with a 2.93 ERA across 894.1 innings while striking out 1,176 batters. He also appeared in 43 career postseason games and had a 3.40 ERA in the playoffs, including a perfect 0.00 ERA in six World Series contests. The righthander was part of the 2009 Yankees' team that won the Fall Classic and he was also an All-Star selection in 2011.
