Josh Simpson designated for assignment by Marlins

Josh Simpson has been designated for assignment by the Miami Marlins. The move allows Josh King a spot on the 40-man roster. (Jordan McPherson on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Simpson made his major league debut last season with the Marlins and pitched to a 7.34 ERA in 31 appearances. The southpaw allowed 34 hits and 22 walks in 30.2 innings, but did strike out 36 batters. The 28-year-old has had much more success in the minors, pitching to a 4.33 ERA with 318 strikeouts in 226.2 career innings. Teams looking for lefthanded arms could take a flier on Simpson.
