Bryan Hudson in line for final Mets bullpen spot
by Bruno Mulé | Mets Correspondent | Tue, Mar 17th 10:17am EDT
Hudson posted a 1.73 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB across 62.1 innings with Milwaukee in 2024 with his cutter as a prominent part of his arsenal, but he struggled in 2025 with both the Brewers and White Sox at the major and Triple-A levels. He attributed the drop-off to mechanical and pitch-mix changes that didn't work out. "I was working on some delivery stuff and chasing some things I really shouldn't change," Hudson said Monday. "So we're getting back to the basics this year to get back after it." (Tim Britton)
Fantasy Impact:
That reset has Hudson positioned as the frontrunner for the final spot in the Mets' Opening Day bullpen, with Craig Kimbrel his closest competition and Austin Warren and Richard Lovelady also in the mix.
