Gonzales has pitched in 10 seasons at the major league level and has won 66 games with a 4.16 ERA in 170 appearances (162 starts). The lefthander was competing for the fifth starter role this spring, but he struggled to a 10.80 ERA in 13.1 innings and the job was awarded to Walker Buehler. Gonzales will provide veteran leadership at Triple-A El Paso and should be a candidate to get some innings in San Diego at some point in 2026.
