The No. 5 overall prospect in the game per MLB.com, Wetherholt will likely begin his MLB career as the Cardinals' starting second baseman and possibly leadoff hitter. The 23-year-old posted an impressive .931 OPS with 17 homers and 23 steals over 109 games between Double-A and Triple-A last season.
