Luis Severino battles despite control issues in season-opening loss
by Chris Schommer | Athletics Correspondent | Sat, Mar 28th 9:01am EDT
Luis Severino allowed two earned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings in the A’s 3-2 loss to the Blue Jays Friday.
Fantasy Impact:
Severino kept a strong Toronto lineup mostly in check Friday night, allowing a .176 batting average in his first start of the season. The right-hander will be asked to once again lead a rotation filled with more questions then answers for manager Mark Kotsay after posting a 1.30 WHIP and 4.54 ERA in 29 starts (8-11, 124 strikeouts) for the Athletics in 2025.
