Kyle Freeland pitches five solid innings Wednesday
by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Wed, Apr 1st 11:56pm EDT
Kyle Freeland settled for a no-decision on Wednesday despite allowing just a run on five hits in five innings. He walked one and struck out six as the Rockies defeated the Blue Jays, 2-1, in 10 innings.
Fantasy Impact:
Freeland (0-1) was locked in a pitcher's duel with Toronto's Kevin Gausman with the Colorado southpaw on the short end of a 1-0 score after his five innings of work. The Rockies were able to score a run in the eighth to take Freeland off the hook. He threw 88 pitches in his five innings - 60 for strikes - and lowered his ERA to 2.89 through two starts on the year. Freeland's next start is lined up to be against the Astros early next week.
