Joe Ryan allowed five earned runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out three over four innings in Wednesday's 13-9 loss to the Royals.

Ryan couldn't dodge the loud contact despite pristine control. He now has made two starts, one dominant on Opening Day, and Wednesday’s dud. After the loss, he now has a 4.82 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with a 0-1 record through two starts. He will look to bounce back in his next start, which is set for Monday against the Tigers.
