Cristopher Sanchez labors through five-plus frames

by Nate Miller | Phillies Correspondent | Wed, Apr 8th 9:49am EDT

Cristopher Sanchez allowed two earned runs (four runs) on 11 hits and no walks while striking out six over five-plus innings in Tuesday's loss to the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Sanchez surrendered hits number 10 and 11 to the first two batters he faced in the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday night, leave a jam for the Philly bullpen. Zach Pop did a nice job in relief, limiting the damage to just one run and helping Sanchez preserve an excellent 1.65 ERA through three starts this season. Sanchez did take his first loss, as the Phillies' bats just never got going in this one. The lefty is now 1-1 with a 1.35 WHIP and impressive 23-4 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings.
