Mayer continues a dismal stretch at the plate, picking up hits in two of his last seven games. The 23-year-old has provided manager Alex Cora with one of many disappointing options in the Boston lineup to this point, batting .182 with one home run, three RBI, five runs scored and one stolen base across 12 games.
