Jesus Luzardo shelled by Cubs on Wednesday
by Nate Miller | Phillies Correspondent | Thu, Apr 16th 10:07am EDT
Jesus Luzardo was hammered for eight earned runs on 12 hits and one walk while striking out four over 5 1/3 innings in Wednesday's 11-2 loss to the Cubs.
Fantasy Impact:
Luzardo has now been knocked around in three of his four starts, resulting in an ugly 7.94 ERA for the season. His 30-5 K/BB ratio through 22 2/3 innings is excellent, but a .417 BABIP has produced a .301 AVG against him. The 28-year-old lefty's 1.97 xFIP supports the idea that he has been one of the unluckiest pitcher's in the league so far. Luzardo will look for a better result in a rematch with the Cubs on Tuesday, and he might be a prime buy-low target ahead of that outing.
