Chase Dollander sensational Tuesday despite loss to Padres

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Wed, Apr 22nd 8:43am EDT

Chase Dollander suffered the loss in a bulk relief role on Tuesday despite allowing one run on three hits in six innings. Colorado dropped a 1-0 decision to San Diego.

Fantasy Impact:

Dollander dropped to 2-2 on the season but has now gone back-to-back outings with nine strikeouts. He walked one batter in his six innings but, unfortunately, it came with the bases loaded in the sixth which brought in the only run of the game. As a starter last season, he posted a 6.52 ERA in 98 innings (21 starts). This season, he has appeared as a bulk reliever every fifth day and, in six appearances, has a 2.88 ERA with a 32:7 K:BB ratio in 25.2 innings. Dollander has a big enough sample size this season that it may be time to put him on your fantasy radar as he appears comfortable in his new role on the Rockies' staff. His next scheduled appearance is Sunday against the Mets.
