Martin Perez bumped from Wednesday start

by David Leisering | Braves Correspondent | Wed, Apr 22nd 10:07am EDT

Martin Perez was scheduled to be the starter for the Braves on Wednesday, but will now start Thursday to make room for Didier Fuentes to start against the Nationals. (Mark Bowman on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Perez will have his start pushed back one day to allow the Braves to get another look at Fuentes on Wednesday against the Nationals. The veteran lefthander will close out the series with Washington on Thursday, which would line up Chris Sale to take the ball Friday in the series opener against the Phillies. Perez has been a pleasant surprise for Atlanta, going 1-1 with a 2.21 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP in four appearances (three starts). Spencer Strider (oblique) is also scheduled back from the injured list soon, so the Braves will have some tough decisions to make regarding their staff over the next few days. And, a lot will ride on how well Fuentes pitches on Wednesday and how well Perez pitches Thursday.
