Jesus Luzardo pitches in-and-out of trouble Tuesday
by David Leisering | Phillies Correspondent | Wed, Apr 22nd 10:55am EDT
Jesus Luzardo allowed five hits, four walks, and hit a batter in 4.2 innings on Tuesday, but surrendered only one run in a 7-4 loss to the Cubs.
Fantasy Impact:
Luzardo somehow kept the Cubs off the scoreboard despite allowing at least one baserunner in each of the five innings in which he appeared. The run he allowed was charged to him in the fifth after Orion Kerkering came on in relief - with two runners on - and promptly walked the first two batters he faced to bring in the game's first run. Luzardo is still well off of his 15-win season a year ago in his first season in Philadelphia. The lefthander is off to 1-3 start in 2026 with a 6.91 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP in five starts. He's lined up to face the Giants on Tuesday.
