Carson Kelly went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored to help the Cubs to an 8-7 win over the Phillies, in 10 innings, on Thursday.

Kelly's three-hit game was his first such effort of the season and he has now hit safely in seven of his last eight games. Over his last eight contests, Kelly is hitting .379 (11-for-29) with two doubles, two home runs, and seven runs batted in. For the year, Kelly has his average up to .333 (17-for-51) with a .932 OPS and a 12:11 K:BB ratio. However, with the Cubs carrying three catchers, Kelly is still fighting for regular playing time, although he seems to be the primary choice at the moment for innings behind the dish.
