Tatsuya Imai (arm) is expected to return soon, which could cut short Teng's time in the Houston rotation. Ryan Weiss is headed back to the bullpen despite it being his turn, opening the door for Teng to start Tuesday in Baltimore. (Matt Kawahara)

Teng made seven starts for the Giants last season and was used primarily as a starter in the minors. He has posted a 2.16 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 16:6 K:BB across 16.2 innings as a reliever this season.
