Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) has been placed on the 15-day IL by the Milwaukee Brewers due to right shoulder inflammation. (Milwaukee Brewers on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Woodruff had his start against the Diamondbacks on Thursday come to an end after facing only six batters. Woodruff flirted with triple digits on his fastball prior to his right shoulder surgery in 2023 and was still averaging a respectable 92.5 mph on his four-seamer through five starts. However, the righthander averaged only 85.6 mph in Thursday's shortened outing. Woodruff, who has not been fully healthy since the 2022 campaign, was 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA in six starts this season. The Brewers are hoping that Woodruff's stint on the IL won't be lengthy.
