Michael Soroka outdueled Wednesday in 1-0 loss to Pirates
by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Thu, May 7th 12:48am EDT
Michael Soroka allowed a run on seven hits in 6.1 innings on Wednesday, but was outdueled by Paul Skenes as the Pirates defeated the Diamondbacks, 1-0.
Fantasy Impact:
Soroka, who walked two and struck out six, had another strong outing on Wednesday. However, a first inning home run by Brandon Lowe was the difference as the righthander suffered his second consecutive loss. Soroka has now allowed two or fewer runs in five of his seven starts and has issued three or fewer walks in all seven outings. However, on the flip side, he has scattered at least five hits in his last five starts and opponents are now hitting .284 off of him this season. Soroka, who is 4-2 with a 4.14 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP, will get the ball again on Monday against the Rangers.
