Zebby Matthews allowed zero earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings in Thursday's 9-1 win over Miami.

Matthews was recalled from Triple-A earlier in the day to make his first start of the season and looked sharp. After Thursday's win over the Marlins, Matthews now has a 0.00 ERA and 0.71 WHIP to go with a 1-0 record across one start. It was an encouraging season debut for the promising prospect, who is now slated to take on the Astros on Tuesday.
