Pete Fairbanks picks up save Wednesday
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Marlins Correspondent | Wed, Jun 3rd 9:46pm EDT
Pete Fairbanks allowed no runs on one hit while striking out one batter to earn his seventh save of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over the Washington Nationals.
Fantasy Impact:
Fairbanks hit the first batter he faced and then allowed a single, but he was able to escape the jam by retiring the next three hitters, picking up his first save since May 22. While he has struggled this season, posting a 6.61 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 18 appearances, he has now strung together two consecutive scoreless outings. Fantasy managers will hope that marks the beginning of a turnaround in June.
