Tomoyuki Sugano allows eight runs Sunday, but still gets win

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Mon, Jun 15th 7:17am EDT

Tomoyuki Sugano was tagged for eight runs on nine hits in five innings on Sunday, but still earned the victory in Colorado's win over the Athletics.

Fantasy Impact:

On any other day, Sugano's line surely would have resulted in a loss, but not Sunday as the Rockies exploded for a franchise-record 23 runs. The righthander has made three starts this month and is 3-0 despite posting a 7.80 ERA with just a 10:6 K:BB ratio in 15 innings. He has a 4.79 ERA on the season, but has allowed five runs or more only three times in 14 starts. He is tied for seventh in the National League with seven victories on the year. He is lined up to face the Pirates at home on Saturday in his next start.
