Jose Corniell takes loss in season debut

Jose Corniell (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Marlins after allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out three. Corniell entered in relief of Cal Quantrill in the third inning, allowed one run in the fourth, and then gave up four more in the fifth.
Fantasy Impact:
Corniell has allowed eight earned runs over five innings across two major-league appearances between 2025 and 2026. His role remains unclear, but he could pitch again this weekend against the Blue Jays if he remains part of the group replacing Jack Leiter.
