Fantasy Impact:
The first step in the plan for Smith-Shawver's rehab process will be to throw between 35 and 40 pitches in a simulated game at the Braves' spring training facility on Thursday. Smith-Shawver last pitched for the Braves on May 29 of last year. The young righty was shut down with an elbow issue after that and ultimately underwent Tommy John surgery. He is on track to return to the Braves at some point after the All-Star break.
