Matthew Boyd tosses 4.2 scoreless innings in return
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Cubs Correspondent | Fri, Jun 26th 3:24am EDT
Matthew Boyd gave up no runs on four hits and four walks while striking out four across 4.2 innings in Thursday's 4-3 victory over the New York Mets.
Fantasy Impact:
Boyd made his return to the starting rotation after being sidelined since May 6 with a left meniscus and shoulder injury, and did not allow an earned run across 76 pitches. While he struggled with command, issuing a season-high four walks, he was able to work out of jams when needed. He owns a 5.02 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 35 strikeouts across 28.2 innings this season. His next scheduled start is on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres.
