Connelly Early strikes out season-high nine in win

Connelly Early earned his seventh win Thursday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out a season-high nine batters and generated 17 swinging strikes. Early allowed one run on three hits in the first inning before limiting New York to a Jose Caballero solo homer over his final five frames.

Early has completed six innings in consecutive starts after falling short of that mark in his first three outings of June. He owns a 3.59 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 88:32 K across 87.2 innings this season.
