Louis Varland nails down save Friday versus Mariners
by Brenton Kemp | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sat, Jul 4th 11:53am EDT
Blue Jays right-hander Louis Varland pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in a 2-0 win over the Mariners on Friday.
Fantasy Impact:
Varland allowed a one-out single to Dominic Canzone, but struck out Cal Raleigh before incuding a game-ending force out of Josh Naylor to end the contest. Varland continues to shine as one of the best relievers in all of baseball this season, as he is now a clean 18-for-18 in save opportunities to go along with a sterling 0.96 ERA, an identical 0.96 WHIP, and a 65:13 K:BB across 47 innings of work.
