Jonatan Clase hits homer in win over Giants Tuesday

Blue Jays outfielder Jonatan Clase went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and an additional run scored in a 9-3 win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Perhaps the Blue Jays have the youngtser to thank for their offensive eruption following a series of pitiful games at the plate, as the 24-year-old blasted a three-run homer to get the scoring started in the top of the second inning on Tuesday. It was Clase's first start since being brought to the big leagues on June 4, as he also singled and scored in the third inning. The rookie hit just .223 with five homers, 17 stolen bases, and a .680 OPS in 53 games with Triple-A Buffalo prior to his promotion, so an offensive surge in the big leagues is unlikely moving forward.
