Brandon Woodruff underwent an MRI that revealed a new injury to the anterior capsule in his right shoulder. He is seeking a second opinion before he and the Brewers determine the next course of action. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Woodruff exited Saturday's start against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to the injury. He previously underwent surgery to repair the anterior capsule in his right shoulder in October 2023 and did not return to a major-league mound until July 2025. Since then, he has dealt with multiple injuries. It's unclear whether surgery will be required this time, but regardless of the next steps, the Brewers are expected to proceed cautiously with the right-hander. Despite the setbacks he's faced over the last few years, Woodruff has been excellent this season, posting a 2.98 ERA and 0.84 WHIP with 47 strikeouts across 45.1 innings.
