Mason Barnett allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks over four innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Rays.

Barnett continues an underwhelming stretch, allowing three earned runs or more in each of his last three trips to the mound. The right-hander remains one of many dismal options as part of a disappointing Athletics pitching staff for manager Mark Kotsay, posting a 6.16 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with a 1-3 record and .862 OPS allowed across 17 appearances.
