Andrew Abbott allowed five earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three over 4 1/3 innings in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Abbott has struggled to miss opposing bats of late, allowing three earned runs or more in five of his last seven trips to the mound. The left-hander remains another inconsistent arm in a disappointing Reds rotation for manager Terry Francona, posting a 4.13 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with a 6-7 record and 1.6 K/BB ratio across 25 starts.
