AJ Smith-Shawver battles through five frames Wednesday night
by Nate Miller | Braves Correspondent |
AJ Smith-Shawver gave up three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings in Wednesday's 6-5 win against the Dodgers.
Fantasy Impact:
Smith-Shawver surrendered a few early runs Wednesday night, but the young righty hung in there and gave the Braves' bats a chance to battle back. Smith-Shawver exited after five full innings, leaving with his club up by one. He is currently lugging around a 5.93 ERA and 1.61 WHIP through three starts, but Smith-Shawver seems to be working his way back into the form that made him the Braves' top prospect a few years ago. It remains to be seen what his role will be going forward this year.
