Eric Surkamp ends up with no decision against New York

by Nathaniel Schwartz | Wed, Apr 20th 4:32am EDT

Eric Surkamp made it past the fifth inning (5 2/3 innings) for the first time this season and ended up with a no-decision in an extra inning win over the Yankees. He gave up two earned runs off of seven hits and three walks, while striking out three batters on a total of 99 pitches.

Fantasy Impact:

This game was a huge step in the right direction for the left handed pitcher, but there is still no reason for him to be rostered on any fantasy team. Surprisingly, manager Bob Melvin does seem to have a lot of trust in Surkamp, allowing him to approach 100 pitches in both of his last two starts.
