Evan Gattis launches a pair of home runs Wednesday
by James Ignatius Zeankowski | Wed, Sep 21st 7:50pm EDT
Serving as team DH during Wednesday afternoon's 6-5 series sweeping victory over the Oakland Athletics, Evan Gattis went 2-for-4 with two home runs. (29 & 30 on the season) He also tallied a ground out and strikeout in the game. In spite of the latter, Gattis now has a very strong .249 average and an even stronger .828 OPS on the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Keeping hot with the offensive record shattering, Evan Gattis has now hit the 30 home run plateau for the first time in his career. Additionally, his 30th season home run is also the 100th long ball of his so-far four year career in major league baseball. All of this comes as El Oso Blanco has also reached another career high in OPS at .828, which is 17 points higher than his career single season record of .811 back in 2014 with the Atlanta Braves. If this hot offensive trend continues, he could be well on his way to near 35 home runs before the end of the season. Fantasy owners, whatever you do, get Evan Gattis on your starting fantasy rosters, and keep him there for the remainder of the 2016 season without fail.
