Evan Gattis pads home run lead Wednesday

by James Ignatius Zeankowski | Wed, Sep 28th 5:52pm EDT

Getting another catching start during Wednesday afternoon's 12-4 series loss to the Seattle Mariners, Evan Gattis went 2-for-4 with a single and his 32nd home run of the year. He also tallied a line out and a fly out in the game. In spite of this, Gattis is holding very strong at a .249 average and .828 OPS on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

El Oso Blanco seems to have broken out of the previous slump he had the week before, where he only hit .182 over a 7 game stretch. But this second half continues to be kind to Gattis and his new approach, with a second half slash line of .285/.357/.607 since the All Star Break. Additionally, the positional stats continue to astonish, with the top 10 consensus ranked catcher slashing .292/.352/.665 when playing as a backstop. With the Astros on the verge of playoff elimination, you may not be able to use Evan Gattis very much longer in 2016. However, fantasy owners, stock up on El Oso Blanco for 2017 without fail!
