Edwin Encarnacion signs three-year deal with Cleveland

by Mitch Cox | Fri, Dec 23rd 1:31am EST

Free-agent slugger Edwin Encarnacion has reportedly inked a three-year, $65 million contract with the Cleveland Indians with an option for 2020. Encarnacion, who will turn 34 in January, hit .263 with 42 home runs and 127 RBI last season. (www.mlb.com)

Fantasy Impact:

This is a huge signing for the defending American League champions. With the departure of Mike Napoli, the Indians needed a replacement source of power, and they now have one of the best in EE. Whether he can maintain his high level of production as he enters his mid-30s will be the only question.
