Aaron Wilkerson settles down after rough first inning

Aaron Wilkerson (0-1) gave up two runs on three hits and two walks in the opening frame against the Braves on Saturday but then settled in to allow just one hit and a walk with no runs over his next four innings pitched. Wilkerson finished with five strikeouts during the 5-1 defeat.

Fantasy Impact

Wilkerson pitched well after a rough first inning. He could get another start before the All-Star break on Thursday in Pittsburgh but will likely fall out of the rotation after the break. Wilkerson is not worth fantasy consideration at this time.

Aaron Wilkerson recalled to start on Saturday

Aaron Wilkerson has been recalled from Triple-A to replace Brent Suter (forearm) who was placed on the DL. Wilkerson will get the ball to start Saturday's game against the Braves.

Fantasy Impact

Wilkerson has pitched just 13 1/3 big league innings during his career with a 6.08 ERA including two starts last season. He has a 2.08 ERA at Triple-A this season but will have a tough matchup against a good Braves offense on Saturday. Wilkerson is best left on the waiver wire as he will likely return to the minors at the All-Star break.

Aaron Wilkerson optioned to minors

Aaron Wilkerson was optioned to the minor league camp.

Fantasy Impact

The 28-year-old right-hander was given a shot at a spot in the starting rotation during Spring Training but had just an 8.22 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in 7.2 innings. He'll likely pitch in Triple-A to start the season and get a chance at the rotation during the season if injuries occur on the big league club. He has no fantasy relevance.

Aaron Wilkerson picks up first career win Sunday

Aaron Wilkerson pitched seven innings of one run ball Sunday against the Cardinals. He allowed two hits, zero walks, and struck out five for his first career win.

Fantasy Impact

The 28 year old rookie made the start in place of Zach Davies, and was perfect through five innings before a Jose Martinez single in the sixth. Wilkerson made two starts for the Brewers in September, and could certainly compete for a spot in the rotation in 2018.

Aaron Wilkerson gives up three runs in first big league start

Aaron Wilkerson lasted just 2 1/3 innings on Wednesday while allowing three runs in his first major league start. Wilkerson allowed four hits and issued one walk in a no-decision against the Pirates during a 6-4 loss.

Fantasy Impact

Wilkerson had a solid season in Double-A this year with a 3.16 ERA and 9.04 K/9 rate in 24 starts but it didn't translate to success on the mound on Wednesday in his first big league start. He may get one more start if needed this season but is not worth fantasy consideration.
