Allen Cordoba with two singles filling in for Manuel Margot Sunday

Allen Cordoba went 2-for-5 at the plate with two singles during Sunday's 5-3 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Fantasy Impact

The 21-year-old Left Fielder continues to show strides in the majors as he now holds a .307 batting-average with a .351 on-base-percentage and a .443 slugging-percentage through 88 at-bats in 2017. At this point, between the quarter and halfway mark of the fantasy season, Cordoba should be monitored and potentially stashed in rosters as he has the potential to blossom in July. The tricky part is going to be when Manuel Margot returns from the 10-day disabled-list.

Allen Cordoba stays warm while contributing in win Sunday

Allen Cordoba went 2-for-4 at the plate with one run and two singles during Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Impact

The Padres have gone 1-and-2 against the Diamondbacks in this three-game-series. Allen Cordoba has gone 4-for-8 at the plate in those three games, with four total-bases, two-runs, and an RBI. Claimed off of waivers from Saint Louis on December 8th, 2016, Cordoba is making a name for himself in San Diego with his effort on the field. The 21-year-old holds a .292 batting-average with a .352 on-base-percentage and a .462 slugging-percentage through 65 at-bats in 2017.

Allen Cordoba hits first triple of the season in loss Wednesday

Allen Cordoba went 2-for-4 at the plate with one triple, one single, one strikeout and one stolen-base during Wednesday's 3-1 defeat to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Fantasy Impact

Cordoba's first career major league triple came in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two outs and the bases empty, Matt Garza delivered a 91 mile-per-hour fastball that Cordoba lined to the left-center-field wall. The 21-year-old Panama native is very volatile at the plate after making his major league debut on April 3rd, 2017. While not a recommended fantasy option, Cordoba shows very impressive speed and game IQ. He currently holds a .278 batting-average with a .339 on-base-percentage and a .481 slugging-percentage through 54 at-bats this season. This is a player to keep tabs on as he may become a steal from waivers as early as June or July.
