Blake Perkins connected for a solo home run in the Brewers’ 6-0 victory over the Cardinals Thursday.
Despite a low batting average of .217, Perkins has shown some power and run production potential, making him a potential deep-league option for fantasy managers in need of a boost in those categories. However, his high strikeout rate of 0.328 and lack of stolen bases limit his overall fantasy value.
Brewers outfielder Blake Perkins is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Nationals.
Perkins got the start in center field and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Sunday afternoon against the Braves but will return to the bench for Monday's series opener against the Nationals. He has logged 132 plate appearances in the big leagues this season but has struggled to a .212 average with two homers, five steals, and a .616 OPS across 51 games in that time.
Blake Perkins had a breakout performance on Saturday, driving in five runs with two hits, including a home run, and scoring two runs to help lead the Brewers to a 10-8 victory over the Reds.
Perkins's was just recalled from Triple-A on Saturday. He made the most of his four at-bats, launching his first career home run off Graham Ashcraft.
