Eligibility
Colorado Rockies catcher Brian Serven will start Wednesday's game against Jack Flaherty and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact
After Elias Diaz started last night's 9-6 loss to the Cardinals it's Serven who will get the nod in an afternoon contest a day later. It's the third start of the season for the 27-year-old who has made just five trips to the plate with a single and a double in that time. Serven struggled to a .203 average with six homers and a .593 OPS across 62 games with the Rockies a season ago.
Brian Serven went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-8 loss to the Giants.
Fantasy Impact
Serven has a hit in three of his last four games, an encouraging sign for someone who has struggled a bit as of late. The catcher is hitting .237 in the month of August as a member of the committee behind the plate. He is not a fantasy option.
Brian Serven went 4-for-4 with three singles, a triple and two runs scored in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Guardians.
Fantasy Impact
Serven is legitimately making his case to become the everyday catcher for the Colorado Rockies. The 27-year-old is now hitting .333 with an OPS of .931 to go along with three homers and nine RBIs in 51 at-bats since being called up. Hitting .409 in his last seven games, the catcher should see an uptick in opportunities going forward.
Brian Serven went 2-for-3 with two singles, a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Guardians.
Fantasy Impact
Serven isn't an everyday starter for Colorado, but he is producing like one at the catcher position. The 27-year-old rookie is hitting .296 in the month of June and should see an uptick in opportunities going forward. He is not yet a fantasy option, but he could be for desperate managers if he sees more consistent playing time.
Brian Serven went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a single in Sunday's 8-7 loss to the Braves.
Fantasy Impact
Serven tallied his fourth multi-hit performance of the season, which is impressive considering he has only played in 12 games. The catcher is hitting .303 with an OPS of .919 in 33 at-bats, so he is a name to monitor especially with the nature of the catcher position in fantasy.
