Christian Moore has been sent to Triple-A by the Los Angeles Angels.
Fantasy Impact
Moore was given an extensive look by the Angels this spring, but he only hit .175 (7-for-40) with a home run and three RBI in 14 games. He was selected eighth overall in the 2024 MLB Draft - one pick ahead of the Pirates' Konnor Griffin, who is widely considered the top prospect in baseball. Moore made his major league debut last season, but he hit just .198 with seven home runs in 184 plate appearances. He has hit .292 in the minors with 13 home runs and 12 stolen bases in 93 career games. Moore will begin the season in Triple-A El Paso, but it's likely he'll get another shot with the Angels at some point in 2026. A Christian Moore-Zach Neto combination up the middle would be intriguing.
Moore's exit velocity sits at 96 mph this spring — 11th-highest in the majors and well above the 89 mph he posted in the big leagues last season — and his strikeout rate has dropped from 33.7 percent to 22.5 percent. The results haven't followed yet, with Moore hitting just .189, but he's competing for the Angels' starting second base job against Adam Frazier.
Fantasy Impact
Moore doesn't appear concerned about the lack of hits: "Whether it falls or not, I'm not really worried about that right now. I just want to make sure I'm making consistent contact every day and making sure I'm at least catching one barrel a day, and a legit barrel. That's kind of where my focus has been and it's been good so far."
Christian Moore went 1-for-4 in loss to the Rockies with a home run, two RBI, and one run scored.
