Christian Vazquez homers on Wednesday

Christian Vazquez went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored in Wednesday’s win.

Fantasy Impact

Vazquez has been a decent fantasy catcher here in 2021. While we would like to see more power out of him, he still owns a respectable .258/.312/.350 line.

Christian Vazquez hitting eighth on Saturday

Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez has been activated from the bereavement list and will start on Saturday against the Orioles.

Fantasy Impact

Vazquez is hitting eighth in this one. Connor Wong was optioned to Triple-A as a corresponding move.

Christian Vazquez placed on bereavement list

The Red Sox placed catcher Christian Vazquez on the bereavement list prior to Wednesday's game against the Rays. In a corresponding move, Connor Wong was recalled from Triple-A Worcester.

Fantasy Impact

Thanks to his offensive woes and fellow backstop Kevin Plawecki's recent success at the plate, Vazquez has seen the bench more often lately. He's hitting just .228 with zero homers over the past 30 games. This lack of power has been an unfortunate trend for the 30-year-old, who has just four homers in 2021 and has not gone yard since June 27th.

Christian Vazquez notches two hits on Thursday

Christian Vazquez went 2-for-4 on Thursday. He was the lone Red Sox player with more than one hit in an otherwise quiet night for the offense.

Fantasy Impact

Vazquez is an underrated fantasy asset. As far as catchers go, he can really do everything, albeit the power has not been there in 2021. He now owns a .252/.304/.343 line.

Christian Vazquez goes 2-for-3 on Sunday

Christian Vazquez went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Vazquez has really made a name for himself over the past few seasons. He is by no means elite, in terms of fantasy catchers, but he is certainly good enough to get the job done. He possesses a rare combination of contact, power, and speed that is especially useful in categories leagues.
