Chris Archer has been placed on the 10 day injured list by the Tampa Bay Rays with hip discomfort.
Another challenge to the Rays depth and philosophy, hopefully Archer is only on the injured list for a short time. Archer has been mediocre at best this season. He has one win and one loss with a 4.66 earned run average and 21 strikeouts in 19.1 innings pitched this season. It doesn’t help that he was pulled from his first start since April 10th when he was lost to right lateral forearm tightness. Archer’s best days look to be behind him at this point.
Chris Archer was removed from Saturday's game against the Tigers after the fourth inning due to left hip discomfort, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Archer allowed one run on two hits over four innings before getting pulled from the game. The severity of the issue isn't yet clear, but the 32-year-old right-hander tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Tigers on Thursday if he's healthy enough to pitch.
Chris Archer allowed four runs on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts through five innings, picking up the win in Saturday's 11-4 victory over the Twins.
Archer was not that sharp in picking up his first win of the season but was able to get plenty of run support from his team who hit six home runs. The 32-year-old righty has a good matchup in his next outing which is against the Tigers on Saturday.
Chris Archer allowed two runs on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts over four innings on Sunday afternoon as the Rays beat the Orioles by a 12-8 score.
Archer had to leave his last outing due to a hip injury but was good to go on Sunday and lasted 59 pitches. Overall the 32-year-old righthander is 0-1 on the season with a 4.35 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 10 1/3 innings.
Chris Archer allowed just one hit, one walk, and struck out four batters over two scoreless innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the White Sox.
Archer returned to the Rays' starting rotation after missing four months due to a forearm strain and a hip issue and threw 41 pitches (24 strikes). The 32-year-old righty favorable road matchup against the Orioles on Sunday afternoon and is worth adding in deeper fantasy formats.
