The San Francisco Giants placed Darin Ruf on the injured list due to a right hamstring strain.
Ruf left Wednesday's game early with the injury before he was placed on the injured list shortly after. LaMonte Wade has been recalled from Sacramento as a corresponding move.
Darin Ruf is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his injured hamstring on Thursday.
Ruf exited Wednesday's game with the injury. The expectation as of now is that he'll need an IL stint.
First baseman Darin Ruf went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, two RBI, four runs scored, and a walk as the Giants took down the Reds 19-4 on Thursday.
Ruf had himself a day at the dish, as did most of San Francisco's offense. He hit a pair of doubles and swatted his sixth long ball of the season, a two-run blast, to cap off the Giants' nine-run third inning. The veteran slugger is now slashing a solid .250/.389/.556 with six home runs and 15 RBI over 72 at-bats. He's a quality, cheap streaming, and DFS option whenever he's in the lineup.
Outfielder Darin Ruf went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, one RBI, one walk, and two runs scored as the Giants lost to the Pirates 8-6 on Saturday.
Ruf got the scoring going when he smacked his fifth long ball of the year off of Tyler Anderson in the top of the first inning. He would pick up a double later in the game and score another run. The lefty masher now owns a .235/.394/.569 batting line to go along with five home runs and 13 RBI over 33 games.
Outfielder Darin Ruf went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a strikeout as the Giants lost to the Rockies 6-5 on Wednesday.
Ruf didn't start this game but came in as a pinch-hitter in the top of the fifth inning. He did all his damage with a two-run shot off Tyler Kinley in the top of the seventh inning. Ruf now has four home runs and 12 RBI to go along with a .851 OPS this season. He'll always garner some streaming appeal whenever the Giants are facing a southpaw.
