Eligibility
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eli White is starting Monday versus the San Diego Padres.
Fantasy Impact
The Braves are stacking right-handed bats against Padres left-hander Ryan Weathers as White will play center field and hit ninth on Monday. The 28-year-old began the season in the minors but has made two starts since being recalled and is just 1-for-8 with a run scored in that time while he's 1-for-9 overall.
Eli White was traded from the Texas Rangers to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday in exchange for cash.
Fantasy Impact
White missed most of the 2022 season with knee and wrist issues. In 117 plate appearances with the Rangers, he did manage to steal 12 bases despite having just a .274 OBP. He will likely be used as a pinch runner and defensive replacement.
Eli White was placed on the injured list on Monday with a wrist fracture after suffering a collision on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
As a result of White being placed on the IL, the Rangers have recalled prospect outfielder Leody Taveras. White will likely not participate in baseball activities in six-to-eight weeks, which puts him on track to return in September. The outfielder was hitting .200 with three homers, 10 RBIs and 12 stolen bases through 105 at-bats in 2022 before this injury that firmly puts him out of fantasy consideration.
Eli White left Sunday's game against the White Sox in the 11th inning with an injury.
Fantasy Impact
White collided with Charlie Culberson in left-center on a ball hit by Danny Mendick. White was down on the field for awhile before he was eventually helped off the field. It looked like a right arm injury. There should be more information out on White and his status soon. Kole Calhoun moved to center field with Brad Miller entering the game in right field.
Eli White went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs and one strikeout Monday against the Rays.
Fantasy Impact
White extended the Rangers lead to 4-1 with a two-run home run in the third inning. He also picked up a highlight in the field, robbing Ji-Man Choi of a home run in what might end up being the best defensive play of the year.
