Washington Nationals catcher Tres Barrera has been called up by the team in the wake of a potential COVID-19 spread just one day prior to Opening Day.
Barrera is coming off an 80-game suspension for PED's and last suited up the Nationals back in 2019. The Nationals are making a flurry of roster moves just one day before Opening Day due to COVID-19 contract tracing.
Tres Barrera has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (DHCMT).
Barrera will go without pay for testing positive. He was likely to make some sort of big league impact beginning in 2021, but it looks like that will have to wait about a month into the season.
