The Orioles have placed starting shortstop Freddy Galvis on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain.
Galvis, who signed with the Orioles this past offseason, was slashing .249/.306/.414 with nine homers, 26 RBI, 18 walks, and 58 strikeouts through 72 games. His placement on the IL was one of six roster moves that Baltimore made on Sunday. They also recalled Domingo Leyba, Ryan McKenna, and Ramon Urias from Triple-A Norfolk while optioning Konner Wade and Stevie Wilkerson.
Freddy Galvis went 0-for-3 with one strikeout.
Galvis hasn't homered in June after hitting seven in May. This season's overall numbers are still at the top of his range, but he's no longer setting a career-high in OPS.
Freddy Galvis went 2-for-4 with two singles, one run scored, and one strikeout.
Galvis is hitting .252 this season with a .756 OPS. The OPS is a career-high.
Freddy Galvis went 2-5 with one run and one RBI.
Galvis hit clean-up for the Orioles on Sunday. He's having a career year, building on his 2019 success, but he probably doesn't belong in the clean-up spot regularly.
Freddy Galvis is getting a rest day on Monday against the Twins.
Galvis has reportedly been dealing with some very minor nagging injuries, so Brandon Hyde wanted to get him a rest. He'll almost certainly be back in the lineup on Tuesday so fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned.
