Grant Holmes gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Giants.
Fantasy Impact
This game was postponed after just one and a half innings due to the weather in Atlanta on Tuesday night. The contest finished up Wednesday afternoon, but Holmes was obviously not a factor. The righty was not pitching particularly well for the Braves anyway, making it back-to-back rough outings. Holmes has now allowed six runs over just 5 2/3 innings while walking more batters than he's struck out. That's obviously not a positive trend.
Grant Holmes allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two over 3 2/3 innings in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the White Sox.
Fantasy Impact
Holmes is not really a workhorse at the back of the Braves' rotation, but this was the first time in 13 starts this year that he has not lasted at least four full frames. The righty was staked to an early four-run advantage, but he had trouble hanging onto it. This one ultimately was not decided until the 10th inning, so Holmes was long out of the equation by then. He will move forward with a decent 4.05 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.
Grant Holmes allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Fantasy Impact
Holmes turned in a quality effort against the Blue Jays on Wednesday night, improving his record to 4-2 through a dozen starts. Since a tough outing at Colorado back on May 1, Holmes has fared quite well on the mound over his last five starts, posting a 3.16 ERA with a 28-10 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings.
Grant Holmes was tagged for three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 4 2/3 innings in Friday's 8-3 win over the Reds.
Fantasy Impact
Holmes held the Reds' bats down over the first three innings of Friday's start, but he surrendered two runs in the fourth and was charged with another after he exited the game in the fifth. The 30-year-old righty's ERA remains at a respectable 3.95 for the season, and he's registered 53 punchouts across 57 innings. On the flip side, his fantasy value has been limited by a 1.33 WHIP and the fact that he's only worked beyond five frames four times through 11 starts.
Grant Holmes allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while racking up 10 strikeouts over five innings in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Nationals.
Fantasy Impact
Holmes recorded his first double-digit-strikeout game of the year Saturday, topping his previous season high by four. Unfortunately for the righty, the Braves' bats just went completely cold in the shutout loss. Holmes will carry a respectable 3.78 ERA into his next start likely to come Friday in Cincinnati.
