With the exception of Isaac Paredes, Holmes handled the Astros' bats well on Saturday. The righty is now 10-5 on the season, and he has given up no more than two runs in 7-of-9 starts dating back to the beginning of August. In that stretch, Holmes has posted a 2.56 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 45 2/3 innings. Holmes could get one more start before the playoffs begin. That would likely come next weekend in Miami.

Holmes didn't quite have his best stuff Sunday, finding the zone with just 40-of-71 pitches and having to manage plenty of traffic on the base paths. Still, the righty battled and kept his club in the contest, exiting with two on and the Braves down 2-1 in the fifth. Holmes has been very good over his eight starts dating back to the beginning of August, delivering a 2.50 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 46.3% groundball rate across 39 2/3 innings.

Holmes pitched plenty well enough to win Monday's game, in what turned out to be a stellar showdown on the mound against Jesus Luzardo. Holmes has been excellent on the mound since the beginning of August, posting a 2.27 ERA and 1.07.WHIP with 23 strikeouts across 35 2/3 innings. He'll face the Phillies again this weekend in Atlanta.

Holmes faced the minimum through three frames Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, inclement weather ended his outing at that point. The 30-year-old righty has allowed only three runs across 14 innings over his last three starts, and he has turned in a nice 2.73 ERA in six outings since the beginning of August. Holmes is likely to return to the mound Tuesday against the Rays.

Holmes was excellent through the first four frames of Friday's start, holding the Rockies scoreless while the Braves built a four-run lead. Holmes had a more difficult time in the fifth, but he was able to get through the inning with his club still up 4-3. The Braves' bats added some additional runs while the bullpen took care of the rest, giving Holmes his ninth victory of the season. He'll move forward with a respectable 3.71 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 128 2/3 innings.
