However, the Marlins were unable to scratch across the tying run. Soto has made four appearances this month and has pitched to a 16.88 ERA, allowing five runs on six hits in 2.2 innings. Soto is now 8-for-10 in save chances this season and has been unscored upon in his last six outings. He has held opponents to a .106 average (10 hits in 28.1 innings) and has a 34:10 K:BB ratio. If you haven't realized by now, Soto is clearly the closer in Pittsburgh with Santana continuing to struggle.
