Hunter Dobbins (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Dobbins will require at least a 12-month recovery period after undergoing his second reconstructive elbow surgery. The righty posted a 3.67 ERA over 11 outings (eight starts) for the Cardinals this season. It seems likely that Dobbins will miss all of the 2027 season.
Hunter Dobbins exited Friday's start in the fifth inning with an apparent arm injury.
Fantasy Impact
After allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts, Dobbins left Friday's game following his first pitch of the fifth inning. The issue was later described as forearm tightness. His status should become more clear over the weekend, but a trip to the IL seems likely.
Hunter Dobbins allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out seven over five innings in Sunday's 11-4 win over the Cubs.
Fantasy Impact
Dobbins allowed only two hard-hit balls and picked up nine whiffs on 96 pitches. It was the third time he's faced the Cubs in only 10 appearances and it was his best effort. After the win, he now owns a 3.42 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with a 3-3 record through seven starts. Dobbins will face the Phillies on Friday.

Dobbins allowed four hard hits and picked up eight whiffs on 97 pitches. After Monday's outing, he owns a 3.40 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with a 2-3 record and an 8.4 K/9 across six starts. He'll face the Cubs on Sunday.
Hunter Dobbins allowed two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over 6.1 innings in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Yankees.
Fantasy Impact
Dobbins was recalled from Triple-A to make the start, with Dustin May shipped out at the deadline. He picked up his second quality start in his last three tries, but got no help from his offense. After the loss, he owns a 3.60 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with an 8.1 K/9 across five starts, and his record falls to 2-2. Dobbins will face the Phillies next if he stays in the rotation.
